What SustEL does, in short

What we do

One Partner — Making Industrial Systems Automated, Measurable, Predictive and KPI-Driven, Whether Brownfield or Greenfield.

Most of our work is brownfield — a change to a plant that has to make product again tomorrow morning — though the same discipline builds a new line from scratch. Either way the engineering, the automation and the cutover sit with one accountable party, and the same partner takes that line on: measured, then predictive, then run to KPI.

Process engineering

Process description, P&ID, equipment and utility sizing, interlock and safety logic — the engineering that has to be right before anything is wired.

Automation

PLC and SCADA development, recipe and batch control, CIP automation and network architecture — engineered on whichever control platform your plant already runs.

Digitalization

Turning what the plant already records into something a manager can act on — every clean, every batch, every setpoint, logged and reportable.

AI & machine learning

Models that learn a line's own normal behaviour and flag drift while every reading is still inside its alarm limit.

Market segment · the technical scope

What we engineer on your plant

If your process is batched, recipe-driven and cleaned down between products — liquid, powder or semi-solid — the engineering transfers. What changes is the product, not the discipline.

Dairy processing hall — stainless vats and pipework

Dairy Industry

Milk reception, separation, pasteurisation, cheese vats, cheddaring and block forming — with the CIP that keeps it all food-safe.

Food processing line — product on the infeed conveyor

Food Industry

Batch cooking, blending, dosing and thermal processing — recipe control that holds the same product spec across every shift.

Beverage filling machine running bottles

Beverage Industry

Syrup room, sugar dissolving, blending and standardisation through to filling-line integration and full batch traceability.

Prepared meals being packed on a hygiene-critical line

Ready to Eat

Cook, chill, fill and seal — sequencing and interlocks built so a hygiene-critical line runs to schedule, not to the operator's memory.

Soya beans — plant-based protein feedstock

Plant Based

Extraction, blending and UHT for alternative proteins and plant milks — the same hygienic discipline, a newer product category.

Stainless tanks and pipework — CIP and utilities

Control, CIP & utilities

Centralised CIP, batch tracking, inline quality and traceability, network architecture, interlock and safety logic across every segment above.

Smart Factory · Industry 4.0 → 5.0

The alarm tells you it broke.
The model tells you it is breaking.

A reading can sit inside every alarm limit and still be wrong in combination. That is the gap our models work in — and it is where a changeover replaces a breakdown.

01

Measured, not sampled

Every clean, every batch and every setpoint against actual — not a monthly post-mortem assembled from memory. Exportable and audit-ready.

02

Ask the plant in plain English

A question in ordinary language, answered from the plant's own records, with the source named. Your data stays in your factory.

03

Warning, not alarm

Models learn normal operation from your own historian — no labelled failure history needed — and score the drift beside the tag, so your SCADA alarm page stays the single source of truth.

Brownfield

Upgrading a plant that cannot stop

A greenfield project forgives mistakes; a brownfield upgrade does not. Our work is scoped around the shutdown you already have — not one we ask you to create.

01

Existing plant

As-built I/O, existing logic and the interlock matrix documented before anything is touched.

02

Upgrade

New logic written and proved against a simulated plant, before a byte reaches your PLC.

03

Automation

Cutover inside a window you already have — a CIP slot, a changeover, a weekend — with the previous program retained and restorable.

04

Data & AI

Once the line is stable and measured, the same plant data becomes reporting, then prediction.

Who carries the risk

One contract, one accountable party. The engineer who writes the logic is on your site for the cutover — not a subcontractor meeting your plant for the first time that night.

What we need from you

Your current PLC and SCADA programs and an as-built I/O list — or the time for us to produce one — plus access during a planned shutdown and one plant contact who can sign off on the night.

Vendor position

We engineer on whichever control platform your plant standard already is — Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric — and we do not sell you ours.

Singapore

India

Four plants — dairy, cheese and juice. Automation engineering, brownfield upgrades and machine spares.

Thailand

Beverage plant — commissioning engineering on site, delivered through a European process OEM.

Uganda

Ethanol plant — SCADA and HMI development, executed on site and in country.

UAE

Municipal water pumping stations — the same control disciplines, a different industry.

Singapore

Engineering base, technology and IP, and the contracting entity for international work.

The record, not the adjectives

Customers order again

The clearest signal in our order book is not the first order — it is the second one. Customer names are withheld here; they are shared on request, with their consent, during a technical discussion.

Customers who placed a repeat order 56%
More than half of the customers we have delivered for have come back.
Of all orders, placed by a repeat customer 80%
Counted from the order book, not estimated.

Why it matters

In brownfield automation, a repeat order is the only review that counts. It means the line came back into production on schedule, the handover held, and the plant was willing to give us the next shutdown window too.

Every figure on this page comes from the order book. We will walk you through the underlying projects — named, with references — once there is something specific to discuss.

Cheese plant · South India

Complete automation package

CIP process description, I/O lists and interlock matrices; PLC and SCADA across cheese vats, cheddaring belt, block former, whey manifold, salt dosing, UF plant and utilities. Software FAT, then I/O verification, water trials and product trials on site.

Dairy group · West India

Brownfield upgrades on a running plant

Recovery interlock upgrade, CIP chemical system automation, SCADA programming and engineers on site across market milk, yoghurt, pasteurisation and CIP sections — contracted directly by the end user across six separate purchase orders.

Sugar & juice plant · India

Curd, blending and CIP on shared utilities

Brought onto lines that share utilities with an existing juice plant, delivered through a European process OEM.

Cheese producer

Block former and crystalliser

Dropped into a cheese line already running to schedule, via the process OEM — automation scoped so the existing production plan held.

Beverage plant · Thailand

Commissioning on site

I/O verification, loop checks and sequence and interlock proving against the process description, on a plant under handover — delivered through a European process OEM.

Ethanol plant · East Africa

SCADA and HMI, delivered in country

Full sequence, interlock and alarm build against the plant standard. Scope expanded mid-project as the customer added process areas — absorbed and delivered.
